2014 Packaged Beverages Innovations and Trends Snapshot

We have all seen the oncoming death of  traditional soda brands. Including the big 2 buying out all of their bottlers/distributors in order to trim the margins and keep afloat also causing them to snatch up threats and acquire fledgling new comers to the beverage market. Recent acquisition successes like Glaceau, Tazo, Izze and others thus causing an explosion of new beverages and brands in the packaged beverage industry all racing to get bought out by the big 2.
Recently we went to the Expo West trade show and made some conclusions about the immediate and future directions of the Packaged Beverage industry.
With the emphasis on functional and good for you, some of the highlights are textures like Chia and Kambucha,  Label Statements like Non Gmo, No Artificial Color, Monkey Free coconuts, also you will see savory blends and ingredients like Kale, Beets, Turmeric, Rhubarb, Cayenne and Oats arriving on the scene in a big way.  Most of all we see a cross ingredient Trend Mash Up. You have coconut milk protein shakes and all natural low sugar athletic sport re-hydration beverages with energy components. "MASH-UP"
We have produced a snapshot from which we use to generate new opportunities in innovation and product development. In the interest of open source community we share this snapshot FREE in the hopes you may consult us for development of a beverage you may want to do.
